Moab is a very special place that EVERY Jeeper should visit at least once. It's a place that helps create (or increase) the bond between Jeep and Jeeper. Ranging from moderately challenging to extremely difficult, Moab offers something for everyone, from novice to expert, from stock Jeeps to highly modified vehicles.
No matter how long I am able to steal away to Moab, it's never long enough, and there are never enough hours in the day while I am there. Be prepared to make a week of it on your first visit - you'll be glad you did.
This year's trip was too short for me, but very action-packed. I spent this visit testing our new TeraFlex 4" Grand Cherokee suspension lift, which we had fitted with Rancho RS9000's - the lift performed outstandingly well. We tested the WJ on the tail end of "Hell's Revenge", among other places. Click here for more information about the suspension evaluation.
I was also able to visit "Lion's Back", "Dump Bump", "Potato Salad Hill", "Kane Creek", and a few others. I made some new friends, and caught up with a few old ones.
There is something about Moab you just can't find anywhere else on earth. Amidst the sound of a locked Jeep chirping its tires on red Slick Rock (a sound I'm happy to say that you will NEVER forget), getting 4 pounds of red dust in your hair (and teeth, and nose, and...), and the idea of being in God's country, there is a feeling of "belonging" to the land that you will only find here.
If I haven't managed to convince you to plan your next vacation to this Jeep Haven, just take a long look at the pictures here, and talk to anyone who has been there - they'll tell you.
